I’ve known Amanda for a while and I jumped at the chance to photograph her to help grow her incredible photography business. As with all photography sessions, planning ahead and discussing with your client what they need is so imperative. This session was full of adventures; we had some rain, got lost a bit but overall it was a huge success! Amanda cares so deeply for her clients, she truly wants to do everything she can to make their wedding a beautiful day, capturing her clients on one of their most important days in their life! Here’s to more success in your business Amanda, I wish you nothing but the best!
Amanda is a wedding photographer specializing in microweddings, couples are her jam as she says! She photographs couples in NY, CT and the surrounding Hudson Valley.
We decided Harriman State Park would be a great spot for her session, since she loves the outdoors and felt it matched with her brand. She really wanted to show her true personality, something she stressed a few times. This is something I hear very often when I do my planning session with my entrepreneurs. They want to immediately connect with their followers. A photograph truly tells a thousand words. During our session, I referred back to our planning guide and shot list to stay focused and ensure we got as many shots as possible. The background was beautiful and the light was so pretty, especially after the rain we just had, which was a surprise by the way! We can plan for almost everything for these sessions, but weather is something we just have to roll with.
This is a common question and concern I get from all of my clients. I have created a Style Guide to help my clients figure out what to wear, and simplify the process of deciding what to wear. All of my clients receive a Style Guide. As with any session (I also photograph families) you must wear clothing that fit you well, are comfortable and feel like ‘you’. There’s nothing worse than wearing something and you feel uncomfortable. Amanda had 2 outfits to change into during her session. I think it’s such a smart way to show your clients who are you by your outfit choices. Amanda really wanted to speak to those couples affected by COVID and wanted to remind them that yes they have had to reschedule their wedding and make last minute changes but at the end of the day ‘Love is not cancelled’.
Amanda plans on using these photographs for her website (she recently did a re-brand of her business), social media and other marketing platforms. Anytime you are changing your business (offering new services, altering the message of your business, or pivoting in any way) it’s imperative that your photographs match the re-brand. This is a great time for a Personal Branding Photography Session! These photographs are one of the first things visitors will see when they visit your website, Instagram and Facebook page. It’s important for them to see your face and learn within seconds who you are and what you do. Studies have shown that when you have a photograph of yourself (looking at the viewer specifically) clients are more likely to take your business seriously and see you as a professional. Wow! This is soooo important!
